Explanation

Display Hostcodes

If you wish, you can display dimension member codes along with or instead of their descriptions throughout the dashboard. Click Display Hostcodes under Dashboard Settings. Select one of the following options:

  • None - displays only the description.

  • Host Code Only - code appears instead of the description.

  • Host Code Prefix - code appears before the description.

  • Host Code Suffix- code appears after the description.

If you select an option to display the host code, a tree showing the available dimensions appears. Check the dimension(s) for which you want to display codes. If you want to display host codes for all dimensions of a key, check the box beside the key name.

Knowledge Manager

Click Knowledge Manager to select settings for the Knowledge Manager panel.

  • Under Preview/Publish Mode, check the Show Panel Opened box if you want the Knowledge Manager panel to already be opened when the user views the dashboard. Also select whether you want the panel to be docked to the left or right.

  • Optionally, check one or more of the Hide ... boxes to hide a type of Knowledge Manager information.

Category Visibility

In this area, you can control which global and private collection categories are available or "visible" in view mode. Power Viewers will be able to access and/or create collections within these categories, depending on their user account settings.

Member Coloring

In this area, choose specific colors to represent members in the dashboard. This allows you to apply consistent colors across multiple widgets.

Badge Image

Optionally, select an icon to represent the dashboard. This icon will appear in dashboard widgets (e.g., in the portal) if enabled. If you skip this selection, the icon will be based on the analysis type of the widget in the upper-left corner.

To select a badge icon, click Choose Image. In the Image Manager, click on an image to select it or click to upload an image.

Export

Select the format for exporting data when the user selects the Export option in a widget. In addition to this setting, you can disable exporting for any widget in its settings.

  • None - No exporting of widgets from the dashboard will be allowed.

  • Salient Interactive Miner (.uxt)  - This file type can be opened in SIM.

  • Microsoft Excel® (.xlsx)

  • Comma Separated (.csv)

  • Prompt - The user will receive a prompt to select one of the above formats.

Allow Spawning

Check this box if you want users to be able to create new widgets by clicking or double-clicking. These capabilities include the following:

  • Rubberband points in a Scattergram to open a list of the selected members.

  • Double-click in a Scattergram numbers view to open a list of members in the range.

  • Double-click in time-series numbers to open a comparative for the selected date.

  • Click in time-series graph to open a comparative graph for the selected date.

Show Standard Widget Title

Check this box to include the standard text describing the widget's timeframe after the widget title. (The widget title is defined in the widget's general settings.) Or clear this option to only show the title. This option affects all widgets in the dashboard.

Add Cube Name to Data Field

Check this box to display the name of a data cube from which the measure originates in measure headings and the Measures area. If the setting is on, the data cube name appears in brackets [ ] after the measure name. Note the following exceptions:

  • To avoid redundancy, the data cube name only displays for measures that do not belong to the currently selected cube.

  • Cross-cube calculated fields do not show the cube names.

  • The data cube name displays for measures that have duplicate names in the dataset even if this setting is not on.

Use Metric Colors on Grid

Check this box to color grid headings based on the measure category (e.g., blue for volume), or clear the box to use dark gray for all measure headings across the dashboard.

Docked Filter Panel Position

Choose display options for the panel that allows users to manage filters. To disable this panel, choose Hidden.

Open Filter Panel on Load

Check this box to automatically expand the filters panel when the user opens the dashboard.
